Domov zdravia was a chain of 45 pharmacies with a turnover of approximately €35 million at the time of exit, which we built from the ground up starting in 2005 under the company SLOVLEK. We focused on building a stable and sustainable chain, with a strong emphasis on service quality and efficient management. As part of the Across investment group, we remained actively involved in the project until its successful exit in 2011, after which it became part of the Dr. Max pharmacy chain.

During the liberalization of the pharmacy sector, we saw an opportunity to build a modern and trusted chain that offered more than just medication dispensing. We developed the Domov Zdravia project as a greenfield investment with the goal of creating a pharmacy chain built on a clear philosophy: professional care, accessibility, and trust across every region of Slovakia.
Instead of chasing rapid expansion at any cost, we prioritized process quality, carefully selected high-potential locations, and built a team that shared the vision of Domov Zdravia. As a result, we gradually built a chain that was not only consistently profitable but also sustainable over the long term. By the time of the exit to the strategic investor Dr. Max, the group had reached a turnover of €35 million and was well-positioned for its next phase under new leadership.
