TrollWall AI Joins HERNWOOD's Portfolio

Online channels have become an integral part of how brands, institutions, and public figures communicate. Alongside this growth comes a mounting challenge: hate speech, toxic content, and disinformation that are increasingly difficult to manage manually.

This is precisely the challenge Slovak startup TrollWall AI is addressing – and we have decided to invest in the company. The startup is also expanding its product beyond moderation into a more comprehensive tool for managing online discussions, with features that include analytics and assistance with drafting responses.

The project began during the first months of the war in Ukraine. At the time, founder Tomáš Halász was helping manage communications for the Kto pomôže Ukrajine initiative, which was facing an overwhelming wave of hateful comments. That experience laid the foundation for a solution now used by a wide range of organizations.

Today, TrollWall AI operates in several countries, supports 12 languages, and serves clients ranging from public institutions and political figures to sports clubs and major brands. Its clients include Zuzana Čaputová, Petr Pavel, AC Sparta Praha, and O2 Slovensko.

The company recently secured €800,000 in seed funding. Alongside Hernwood, investors in the round include Slovenská sporiteľna’s Seed Starter and Slovak Investment Holding. The funding will help the company expand into new markets, further develop its AI technology, and scale its product.

For Hernwood, this is an investment in a company that addresses a pressing need in the digital world and has the potential to grow internationally. It also reflects our interest in supporting Slovak technology companies with global potential and helping develop the region’s startup ecosystem.
